Student Activity Council (SAC)
The Student Activity Council (SAC) is the central student body at ABV-IIITM Gwalior responsible for overseeing and coordinating a wide range of activities beyond academics. Working through its Technical, Cultural, Sports and Welfare Cells, SAC provides students with platforms to learn, compete, create, celebrate and contribute to the campus community. From technical competitions, hackathons and innovation initiatives to cultural celebrations, performances, sporting events, inter-IIIT competitions and social-welfare activities, SAC brings together the diverse interests of the student community and ensures an active and engaging campus life. Through its events and initiatives, SAC also encourages leadership, teamwork, creativity, sportsmanship and social responsibility among students.

SAC Technical Cell promotes a culture of technology, innovation and continuous learning at ABV-IIITM Gwalior. The cell coordinates with technical clubs and student communities to organize hackathons, technical competitions, coding and problem-solving activities, and other innovation-driven events. It also supports major initiatives such as the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), providing students with opportunities to work on real-world problems, collaborate in teams and develop practical technical skills. Through these activities, the Technical Cell encourages students to explore emerging technologies, build projects and transform innovative ideas into solutions.

SAC Cultural Cell is responsible for enriching the cultural and artistic life of ABV-IIITM Gwalior by providing students with opportunities to celebrate traditions, showcase their talents and participate in creative activities. The cell coordinates cultural performances across institute events and organizes celebrations such as Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi and Garba Night, along with dedicated cultural programmes such as Mridang. From music, dance and performances to traditional festivities, the Cultural Cell brings students together and creates a vibrant campus environment that celebrates creativity, diversity and Indian culture.

SAC Sports Cell promotes fitness, sportsmanship and team spirit across ABV-IIITM Gwalior by organizing and coordinating sporting activities throughout the academic year. The cell conducts major events such as Urja, the institute's intra-campus sports event, and Twaran, the inter-IIIT sports meet, along with NSD, Faculty Meets, friendly matches and other sporting competitions. By providing students with opportunities to compete, participate and represent the institute, the Sports Cell encourages physical well-being, teamwork, discipline and a strong sense of community.

SAC Welfare Cell works towards creating a supportive, socially responsible and inclusive campus community through activities focused on student welfare, social responsibility and community engagement. The cell facilitates initiatives such as blood donation drives, Raksha Bandhan celebrations and activities associated with national occasions including Independence Day and Republic Day. Through these programmes, the Welfare Cell encourages students to actively contribute to society, participate in meaningful social initiatives and strengthen the sense of responsibility and togetherness within the institute.
Fests
Infotsav
Infotsav is the flagship techno-managerial festival conducted by ABV-IIITM Gwalior that integrates technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and management into a highly competitive yet engaging arena. At the fest, students get the opportunity to showcase their skills through coding and technical competitions, hackathons, quizzes, problem-solving challenges, and innovation-driven events. In addition, Infotsav features exhibitions, workshops, and expert sessions where participants can gain insights into emerging technologies and ideas. The fest also welcomes students from other institutes, creating a platform for interaction, collaboration, and healthy competition. Adding to the excitement, Infotsav features a grand musical concert, which brings the campus alive with performances by renowned artists. Over the years, the fest has hosted popular performers such as Dev Negi, Mohit Chauhan, Vaani Bhasin, and other celebrated artists, making the concert one of the major highlights of the Infotsav experience.
Aurora
Aurora is the annual cultural festival of ABV-IIITM Gwalior and a celebration of creativity, talent and cultural diversity. The fest brings together students through a wide range of activities including music, dance, singing, fashion, theatre, poetry, literary competitions and entertaining stage events. Popular activities include Parivesh, the institute's fashion showcase, along with singing and dance competitions. Aurora also features workshops, exhibitions, food stalls and special performances, creating a lively campus atmosphere where students can showcase their talents, interact with participants from other institutions and celebrate different forms of art and culture.
Urja
Urja is ABV-IIITM Gwalior's intra-institute sports festival, bringing students together through friendly yet competitive sporting events. The festival provides an opportunity for students from different hostels and groups to compete in sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, and other athletic activities. Beyond competition, Urja promotes physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship while strengthening interaction and camaraderie among students. The event transforms the campus into a vibrant sporting arena where students compete for their teams, support their peers and celebrate sporting achievements together.
Twaran
Twaran is an inter-IIIT sports festival that brings together student athletes from ABV-IIITM Gwalior and other participating IIITs for a celebration of competitive sports and inter-institute interaction. The festival features a variety of sporting and athletic competitions, allowing participants to demonstrate their skills while representing their institutes. Alongside the sporting contests, Twaran encourages friendship, teamwork, and interaction among students from different IIITs. The festival's overall winner is determined by the total points accumulated across all sports, with points awarded based on performance and wins in each sporting event. It provides a platform for healthy competition and athletic excellence while strengthening the sense of community across the IIIT network.
Celestia
Celestia is a vibrant cultural and entertainment event at ABV-IIITM Gwalior that brings together music, fashion, performances, games, and student creativity. Organized as a collaborative student initiative, Celestia provides a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents while creating an energetic and engaging campus experience. The event features a lively fair with food stalls and games, along with fashion shows, live band performances, singing and dance performances, and other entertainment activities. With its emphasis on creativity, participation, and community, Celestia adds another dimension to the cultural life of ABV-IIITM and provides students with an opportunity to come together, celebrate talent, and create memorable campus experiences.

AASF — Abhigyan Abhikaushalam Students’ Forum
AASF (Abhigyan Abhikaushalam Students’ Forum) is a peer-learning community at ABV-IIITM that promotes collaborative learning, technical exploration, and knowledge sharing among students. The forum provides a platform for students to learn from one another through workshops, discussions, competitions, and hands-on activities. AASF also organizes Winter Projects, where students work with experienced guides during the winter vacation to develop practical projects and strengthen their technical skills, as well as Mock Interviews, which simulate real-world interview experiences and help students prepare for technical and professional recruitment processes. AASF has historically conducted a large number of student-led learning activities and publishes Abhishar, its annual magazine, providing students with an additional platform to showcase their ideas, experiences, and creativity.
Uthaan
Uthaan is a student-driven platform focused on connecting the campus community through conversations, experiences and knowledge sharing. The club provides students with opportunities to interact across batches, share their academic and professional journeys, and showcase their writing and creative abilities. Through interviews, student-focused initiatives and campus activities, Uthaan helps document the diverse experiences that shape student life at ABV-IIITM.
E-Cell — Entrepreneurship Cell
The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) fosters an entrepreneurial mindset among students by providing a platform to explore ideas, understand business fundamentals and engage with the startup ecosystem. It encourages students to identify problems, develop solutions and take their ideas towards execution through entrepreneurial activities, interactions and learning opportunities. E-Cell works alongside the institute’s broader innovation and incubation ecosystem to encourage students to think beyond conventional career paths and explore entrepreneurship.
IEEE Student Community
The IEEE student community at ABV-IIITM provides students with opportunities to engage with technology, engineering, and professional development. Through technical activities, knowledge-sharing initiatives and collaborative programmes, the community encourages students to explore emerging areas of technology while developing professional and interpersonal skills. It also provides a platform for students to connect their academic learning with the wider engineering and technology community.
Manchtantra — Dramatics Society
Manchtantra, the dramatics society of ABV-IIITM, provides a platform for students passionate about theatre, acting, and storytelling. The society encourages students to express themselves through stage performances while developing confidence, creativity, communication and teamwork. Through theatrical productions and performances, Manchtantra adds a strong performing-arts dimension to campus life and allows students to bring stories and ideas to the stage.
Rotaract Club of Youth
The Rotaract Club of Youth, ABV-IIITM Gwalior, focuses on community service, social responsibility and student-led initiatives. The club provides students with opportunities to participate in service activities, awareness programmes, donation drives and initiatives supporting the wider community. It also conducts peer-oriented activities that encourage students to learn from one another, develop leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to society.
Student Gyaan Movement
Student Gyan Movement (SGM) is a student-led social and educational initiative at ABV-IIITM Gwalior dedicated to making quality education more accessible to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through regular teaching, volunteering and community-focused activities, IIITM students contribute as teachers, coordinators and mentors, sharing their knowledge while developing leadership, communication, teamwork and organizational skills. SGM reflects the institute's commitment to social responsibility by encouraging students to use their knowledge and time to create a positive impact in the community.
Beat Hoppers
BeatHoppers is the official dance club of ABV-IIITM Gwalior, bringing together students passionate about dance, choreography and performing arts. The club provides a platform for students to develop their dance skills, create group performances and represent the institute at cultural events and competitions. Through regular practice, performances and participation in campus and inter-college events, BeatHoppers promotes creativity, teamwork, discipline and artistic expression while adding energy and vibrancy to the cultural life of the institute.
Google Developer Groups (GDG)
Google Developer Groups (GDG) On Campus – ABV-IIITM Gwalior is a student-led developer community focused on helping students learn, build, and collaborate with modern technologies. The community organizes technical workshops, hands-on sessions, hackathons, ideathons, study jams, tech talks, and skill-building events across domains such as Google Cloud, AI/ML, Web Development, Android, Flutter, Open Source, Game Development, and Cybersecurity. GDG provides students with opportunities to learn from experts and peers, work on practical projects, explore emerging technologies, and collaborate on innovative solutions. Recent initiatives include Google Cloud Study Jam, GDG SkillSprint, developer-focused workshops, and innovation challenges, with activities designed to foster technical excellence, creativity, networking, and a strong developer community on campus.

Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated at ABV-IIITM Gwalior as part of the institute's vibrant campus culture, bringing students together for a festive and community-oriented celebration. The occasion provides students with an opportunity to participate in traditional rituals, spend time together and celebrate the festival in the spirit of togetherness.
Garba Night
Garba Night is a vibrant Navratri celebration organized for the ABV-IIITM community, combining traditional Indian culture, music and dance with an energetic campus atmosphere. The 2025 Garba Night, organized by the IEEE Student Branch of ABV-IIITM, featured a traditional pooja and prasad distribution followed by Garba and Dandiya celebrations. The event saw participation from approximately 550 students, providing an opportunity for the campus community to come together, experience Gujarati cultural traditions and celebrate Navratri through music and dance.
Lohri & Kite Fest
Lohri and the Kite Festival form part of the winter cultural celebrations at ABV-IIITM Gwalior. The institute has a particularly strong connection with kite flying, which its official student-life page identifies as a popular festival activity in Gwalior. Kite Fest 2012 was organized by the student community on 14 January, coinciding with Lohri, with students actively participating in kite flying and celebrating the occasion together.
Janmashtami
Janmashtami is also celebrated by the IIITM campus community as part of the institute's broader cultural and social life, observed alongside Ganesh Chaturthi, Lohri and other Indian festivals throughout the year.
