WANITA
WANITA in Indian languages means woman. This program is women specific programme to empower them with IT skills and enable them to become entrepreneur in the field of IT enabled services such as content creation, web design, e-tutoring, translation etc. As per observation from similar programmes for entrepreneurial motivation in the field of IT for formulating projects to setup a start up firm which includes the details of the products/services to be delivered, the technology to be employed, information on financial requirement and source of financing as well as the market trend it is observed that the women entrepreneurship in the field of IT is very similar irrespective of the age, the marital status and educational qualification. Even new literate have been successful entrepreneurs under this programme.

Use of ICT in local language will be a major initiative towards IT localization initiative by women and this programme will result into self-employment, job creation, and specifically women empowerment.

The present programme aims at combining the above two - by creating entrepreneurial attitude and spirit, achievement and motivation amongst educated women through training them on use of ICT to establish small office/Home office service setup. This will lead directly to "Women Empowerment" and indirectly to the IT Culture development as women is the vehicle of culture being the main force behind the family.
