One of the most powerful assets IIITM has built over the years is its Alumni network. The Alumni family is an important component for realizing the goals of the Institute in the creation, application and dissemination of technology and management knowledge. The Alumni's activities and programmes are directed towards building lifelong bonds of kinship with the Institute.

The IIITM Alumni Association was formally established at 2000. The Objective of IIITM Alumni is to encourage mutually beneficial interaction as academic and social events towards promoting liaison between the Alumni and the Institute. Activities of the Alumni are coordinated by Alumni Council.
