IBM CoE inaugurared on on 27 July 2010 by Himanshu Goyal, Country Manager, IBM Academic Initiative and Developer Works Quote by Senior Management at ABV-IIITM Gwalior.
"The IBM Center of Excellence Programme is a fantastic initiative in IT education.While competing programmes by other IT corporates are primarily concerned with imparting theoretical knowledge in one product or technology, the IBM programme allows a student access to multiple technology and product streams. The intensive in-house hands-on training sessions are followed by a rigorous cetification process. However, the real capacity and capability enhancement for students happens when they are required to apply their skills during the TGMC projects. This completes the loop ensures that the students have practical industry-relevant skills by the time they pass out. We have seen the certified students acquire a definite competitive advantage during the placement process as well. That this programme comes at zero-cost for the students, is the icing on the cake.This would help to develop students who are industry ready with international certificate. IBM has also in this MOU given access software and books worth ` 41 LAKHS. No other technology company has a programme which is as comprehensive and far-reaching. Congratulation to the IBM Academic Initiative."
