Research Focus
With the turn of the century and the advent of new paradigm in technology and education, we are continually redefining strategies and focusing on new destinations. While we are retaining and building on our current strengths and assets, we are creating new relationships and synergies. The Institute has already initiated specific actions to bring an increasingly international perspective to the present activities.
Innovation is the key to survival and prosperity in this age dominated by both technological advancement and obsolescence. Innovation is putting new ideas into practice and making them successful. To generate new ideas and win future, we need to break free from the past.
The Institute has created a vision "Global Excellence in Knowledge Economy" and is evolving research and teaching programs which focus on emerging technologies for rendering high tech solutions. Core research areas for IT and Management disciplines have been identified to focus on research, application and user segments. For IT areas, the thrust areas identified are: Software Engineering, Network & Information Security, Human Centered Computing, Mobile Computing & Embedded System Design and for Management, the thrust areas are Knowledge Management, Business Analytical, Risk Management, Quality Management & Technology Management. It is in this background the whole research and development programme is being reviewed and re-moulded. The research is targeted for specific application areas of e-governance, e-skills and e-learning and e-rural prosperity. The objective is to build synergy between research and application domains.
