IBM Center of Excellence

The institute entered in an MOU with IBM for starting the software center of excellence with IBM on 27 July 2010. This C.O.E. would basically impart training on the following DB2.RAID, RFT TIVOLI and other IBM technology to the students of ABV IIITM free of cost. Even the certification cost would be borne by IBM. This would help to develop students who are industry ready with international certificate. IBM has also in this MOU given access software and books worth ` 41 LAKHS.

ADB2 training programme for 60 students of the institute was carried out in the IBM C.O.E. from 12TH TO 14TH Aug ’10 and the certification programme for the same would be done on 03 Sept’ 10.

A workshop was organised on 28th Aug ’10. Quality circle team from the following companies : Munjal Showa, Hero Honda, Godrej and Minda group participated in this half day workshop. A total no. of 27 participants were present in the workshop. The team showed how they tackled the problem on the shop floor and how it improved the productivity and the working condition. In the process of improvement behavior skills like team work, condition, participation of different layers in the organization, leadership skills came out. This was very good learning for the students of management. This programme was convened by Mr. RKK Mutthu, President, Corporate Consultancy Services.

IBM IETS training programme for final year Student of M.Tech & MBA (PG and IPG) which will focus in communication skill as well as soft skills and is a 6 hrs. Intervention to be carried out over a period of 45 days (2 hours daily). After the successful completion of the training programme certificate would also be provided by IL & FL on behalf of IBM.
