Q1) How far is the Institute from the main city?
A) The Institute is well connected to the city. The Institute provides bus facility from the Institute's main gate to the city. MPRTC buses are also available from the Institute's main gate. The Institute is on the highway to Agra, and the buses on this route can be accessed from the main gate. Gola ka Mandir, a spot about 2-3 km from the Institute, is very well connected with each type of transport and connection both the airport and railway station.
Q2) Is there any general store for daily requirements?
A) The Institute has a co-operative store in the institute. The store keeps all the general items that may be required. Besides, the students may easily go to Gole Ka Mandir which has appreciable number of shops for all general goods.
Q3) Is there a Bank facility provided at the Institute?
A) An extension counter of Bank of India is operating in the Institute. The fee of the Institute is paid in the same bank. Besides, an ATM of IDBI Bank has also been set up.

Q6) How are the security arrangements at the Institute?
A) The Institute has its own security force that works round the clock at all the entrance gates, hostels and the various blocks. Every person entering the Institute must have proper identification documents. Guests or visitors of a student may be allowed inside only after verification from the student.
Q7) How is the weather at Gwalior?
A) Gwalior has an extreme type of climate that may vary from 38 degrees to even 13 degrees. However, the temperature in most of the parts of the semester is fairly pleasant.
Q8) How are the admissions done at IIITM?
A) All admissions are done through All India entrance examinations. For Integrated Post Graduate course it is through AIEEE. For MBA it is through CAT and JMET.
For MTech it is through GATE. PhD admissions are done through institute level examination.
Q9) How are the admissions done for foreign students?
A) The admissions for the foreign students are done through Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA) scheme. Many students have been admitted by this scheme.
Q10) Does the Institute offer admissions in areas other than IT and Management?
A) No. As per the objectives of the Institute, we presently have courses running only in these areas. The institute though offers a few seats for PhD in applied sciences.
Q11) What is the motive behind the integration of IT and Management?
A) IT and Management are both incomplete without each other. One needs a good exposure over both in order to succeed in life. Building technical solutions is not enough, they need to be deployed and made a part of the social life of the people. They need to be made acceptable by the people by overcoming all their resistance. Similarly the management solutions need to have a technical base for their most optimal and efficient performance. With
this need the best approach is to integrate the two concepts to be capable of solving all the problems the industry faces.
Q12) What is unique about IT and Management of IIITM?
A) This was the first IIIT established in India that came with this unique idea of the integration of technology and management. We are the forerunners in this domain. The results obtained so far as perceived by the industry and further clear by the success of our Alumnus are very encouraging.
Q13) How is Gwalior connected to the other parts of the country?
A) Gwalior is well-connected by both road and rail to all major destinations. Being close to the National Capital with a distance of 320 Kms and numerous trains and buses running at regular interval adds an extra advantage. Gwalior even has air connectivity to many cities around the country.
Q14) Any comment on the History of the Institute?
A) IIITM was setup by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, GOI in 1997 for excellence in IT and management. This was the first IIIT in the country which started a dual degree program in IT and Management catering to the industry needs. It gained the status of deemed University in 2001.
Q15) Any comment on the IIIT/IIITM group of Institutes.
A) The IIIT/IIITM Institutes were all established for excellence in IT along with some added specialization. Even though there is no formal collaboration or networking between these Institutes, they form a unique cluster of their own. They stand for same philosophy, aspirations and goals. This forms basis of a good interaction at various levels.
